ImageJ v2.0.0-beta2

In keeping with the fine tradition of making a release on Friday afternoon, and immediately going on vacation, the ImageJDev team is pleased to release the second beta of ImageJ2, version 2.0.0-beta2!

ImageJ 2.0.0-beta2 is a "beta"-quality release, meaning the code is not finished. The design is more stable than before but still subject to change until the final 2.0.0 release. It is recommended that people continue to use ImageJ v1.x for critical work.

The release process has begun for ImageJ 2.0.0-beta1. We are currently resolving the few remaining tickets, and making the final preparations for the release. Once we have a release candidate, we will perform some internal testing for a day or two, and fix any showstopper bugs that we discover. At the same time, we will summarize the current design and major available features of ImageJ2 on the web site. Finally, once the documentation is in place, we will post and announce the release.

In summary, expect a release announcement some time next week!

According to our roadmap for ImageJ2, we should be releasing the first beta of ImageJ v2.0.0 today. Unfortunately, the program is still not ready to be released as a beta. Thus, we are pushing back the beta1 release to some time in July, with a deadline of July 31st.
